 Missions

The mission of our church is to share with others the abundance of gifts given to us. As a congregation, we:

  • Contribute to local assistance programs

  • Help sponsor international Christian missions

  • Contribute money to assist in sending our youth to help in disadvantaged areas of the country

  • Give financial assistance to qualifying graduating seniors to encourage them to seek further education

  • Provide funds for transients and those who have difficulty paying utility bills.

 Second Time Around Store:
Second Time Around, located at 105 S. Denton, is open three days a week, Monday, Thursday, and Friday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. They are always looking for volunteers to help and they welcome donated items such as clothing, household items, furniture, lawnmowers, books, anything large or small, she said. For those donating large items, pick-up service may be pre-arranged by calling the store at 665-7939.
Second Time Around provides a witness for the needy of the community and offers an arena for service for those who choose to be disciples to the poor through this area of service. Profits from sales are given to mission projects of the church.

 UMW:

United Methodist Women has used money earned from their annual Table Tops fundraiser to fund camp scholarships for youth and children, to support “hands-on” projects which have included preparing school kits and health kits for UMCOR and to make contributions to places such as the Methodist Children’s Home.

 Seasonal Mission Offerings:

Mission offerings are received during the Christmas and Easter seasons, and the money collected is disbursed among local, state, national, and international agencies. Over $9,000 was collected and distributed during the previous Christmas and Easter seasons.
