With choirs ranging from beginning
children’s choir to adult chancel choir, there is a place for all
who wish to lead our worship through song. Music is a vital part of
the ministry at First United Methodist Church, and there is a place
for you.
Adult
Chancel Choir:
The Adult Chancel Choir is at the heart of the music program here at
FUMC. The adult choir is under the direction of Daniel Banke and
rehearses on Wednesday evenings at 7:15 p.m. There is no audition,
and the choir is open to all adults who have a love of music and are
searching for a place to serve. Your commitment is Wednesday
rehearsal and Sunday morning worship.
Handbell
Choirs:
FUMC offers handbell and hand chime opportunities for children in
grades 3—6, youth in 7-12th grades, and adults. Our bell choirs
regularly ring in worship during the school year and add a great
spirit to our worship services.
Daniel Banke is the Director of our handbell and hand chime
choirs.
Children’s
Choirs:
Our children’s choirs meet on Wednesday afternoons during our
Children on Wednesday (COW) program. Patsy Morris is the director of
these choirs. During the month of July a week long "Children's Music Camp"
is held with a performance of the musical on the last day. The Director of
Music Ministries, Daniel Banke, conducts the camp.
Instrumentalists:
Instrumentalists are used on anthems and as soloists for special
music. If you are interested in playing, please contact Director of
Music, Daniel Banke.
