CAPITAL CAMPAIGN BEGINS
We are on the verge of attempting
something great for God — the preservation of our beautiful and historic
sanctuary, built in 1892.
When we discovered over two
years ago that the exterior brick on the sanctuary was not firmly anchored
to the structural framework, we knew this was a situation that had to be
addressed, not only for the preservation of the building but for the safety
of all those who use our facilities.
We set about consulting with engineers, architects, and contractors
to develop the best and most permanent solution.
The Building Committee has estimated the cost of the project at
$1.1-1.2 million to completely replace the exterior brick, restore the two
towers, insulate the walls, and perform other needed repairs.
This challenging goal
necessitates a capital fund-raising campaign, similar to the ones used in
the Phase I and II projects, so that we don’t hinder our day-to-day
ministries or add to our long-term debt.
We hope to use this portion of
the website to
help keep our church family
informed about this campaign and about how all of us can be involved in
saving our sanctuary. We thank
you for your commitment and interest.
When we all work and pray together, great things can happen.
Remember: With God, all things are possible!
