United Methodist Women
UMW encourages women to know God and to experience freedom as a whole person through Jesus Christ. UMW sponsors fun, fellowship, mission and study opportunities. Each year their big event is “Tabletop Treasures” which is a fundraiser for missions. For more information, contact Shawna Brinkley at 665-3926.
Methodist Men United
Methodist Men United was formed in order to provide fellowship and to do service projects for the church and the community. The group meets on the 3rd Saturday of every month and is open to men of any age as well as Sr. High Youth under the direction of their parents. For more information, contact Randy Jones at 612-6600.
Family Ministries sponsors a variety of church wide activities that are centered on strengthening the church, family, and individuals through worship and fellowship. Such activities include the annual Fall Festival and "Parent's Night Out" in December and February, observance of Christian Home month in May, and Family Mission Activity Day in April and the annual church picnic.
This is a unique group led by Robin and Cathy Brown, who go on luncheon outings each month, September through May. Anyone of any age is welcome to join. You never know where you might end up, but you always know it will be an adventure! Contact the church office for more information at 665-3926.
Scrapbooking “All Day Crop”
Two or three times a year, First UMC hosts an all day Saturday scrapbooking event in the Fellowship Center. All proceeds benefit the Sr. High Summer Mission Trip and youth ministries.
Pastor Led Bible Study:
Join Rev. Yeager as he leads weekly Bible studies on several occasions throughout the year. Lenten and Advent Bible studies have drawn many who seek to further their knowledge about these special seasons of the church. Other studies are also available at different times during the year.
GriefShare groups are offered periodically during the year to assist those who have suffered a death of a loved one. These groups are open to the public. The groups are led by Rev. Yeager or Jo Brannan. For more information on this group please contact the church office at 665-3926.
Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University
First UMC is offering this unique course for the first time in September 2011 and will be led by Ryan Morris. This is a 13 week course that helps individuals and families learn to use their resources wisely and to teach them how to have a secure financial future. For future classes please contact the churc office at 665-3926.
